Travel photography – The Emerald Green Aegean Sea

Everytime I visit Greece I am blown away by the beautiful colours of the sea. So this travel photography post is of the Aegean Sea.

I love the deep blue of the Med and the turquoise sea of the Caribbean but for me you just can’t beat the emerald green of the Aegean.

The waters here are warm and very clear, great for snorkelling and diving. The colours change and the sea sparkles in the sun, always changing and never the same.

Greece still has many more blue flag beaches than other countries and is very proud of this fact. Blue Flag beaches are rated the cleanest in the world.

A typical Greek photo taken in Paros

Pefkos Beach, Rhodes

Psathi Beach, Ios

Swimming in that beautiful sea!

All of the below are taken from Fourni Beach and Caves in Rhodes. The beach is quite a drive from the east coast and has a long windy road that drops from one of the highest peaks all the way to the ocean. Once you arrive Fourni Beach is literally the end of the road we shared the beach with around 20 or so other people so it was great πŸ™‚

We swam to some caves and happened to find two plastic chairs inside to sit on and sunbathe!

So I hope you agree with me that the Aegean really is a beautiful sea!
