Michelin Star Food from the Lot, France

Until recently I had never eaten at a Michelin starred restaurant before. In fact I never really eat at fancy restaurants at all so the extravagant and beautifully presented dishes that were served to me during a recent trip to the Lot region in France courtesy of Atout France really blew my mind and taste buds!

Heres a quick selection of what I was treated too!

Some tasty foie gras and white asparagus

Fresh ice cream and fresh fruit

I forgot to take a picture before digging in on this one!

Small white asparagus soup

Probably the most incredible salad I’ve ever had

Terrine of Poultry with some vegetables

Cold soup very similar to a Spanish Gazpacho

Fillet of Cod and vegetables

Dark chocolate flakes with a chocolate and cream mousse, bitter orange sauce and alcohol soaked cherries

Smoked Salmon wrapped in French Crepes

Duck in a Cassis Sauce with Gratin Potatoes

Homemade fresh sorbet, pineapple, pear and fresh berry’s

Most of this was all washed down with the beautiful Malbec wine which is produced in the vineyards around Cahors

Last but not least I flew with cityjet on their new route to Brive Airport and whilst their food wasn’t up to the standard of the above at least they gave me something to eat 🙂

I had a great time in the Lot and will do another post about everything I got up to in this beautiful region of France along with lots more photos.

Hopefully this post hasn’t made you too hungry and once again thanks to Atout France for allowing me to go on the trip
