Firstly happy new year to all
January is traditionally a time of year to hunt down some holiday deals and begin planning travel for the year to come.
I often find January a difficult month, the festive period is over and its normally dark wet and very cold, so planning some travel is a great way to lift the gloom.
So far I have managed to confirm a trip to Thailand in June, a break in Edinburgh for a wedding and some time in the Balearic Islands.
I am currently trying to arrange a trip to Dartmoor for April and researching where else to visit this year. I go a little travel planning crazy in January to make sure I can fit everything in around my work schedule.
The biggest disappointment for me this year is not being able to go skiing. For the past 3 years I have led school groups to Italy during the half term holidays. This was extremely challenging but highly rewarding and it will be a shame to miss out in 2012. No apres ski action either!
I would love to be heading back to these empty slopes again……………
If I cant get to the mountains then I often dream of beaches like these to escape my S.A.D syndrome.
So I’m sure everyone else is also looking to see where they can travel too in 2012 and I cant wait to read about where you are all going and seeing whether our paths cross.
So cheers to a great year travelling in 2012
p.s. 2011 was a great year for me and the first year of my blog check out a snapshot of 2011 a year in review by clicking here
