Ok so I admit it i havent been so busy that I cant write, I was busy in December but pretty much ive been lazy!
Infact for the first time i seem to have watched loads of TV! Particulary Bondi Rescue & An Idiot Abroad.
Bondi Rescue is actually probably the best ‘reality’ type show i’ve seen. It focuses on the full time lifeguards on Bondi beach and will appeal to all reality TV lovers as well of those who have travelled there and experienced the quirkiness of Bondi!
The real point of this post though is An Idiot Abroad, which i also think has been a great show. However im going to have a little rant here.
I spoke to someone who travels a lot and they think its a disgraceful show and disrespectful. Now I have to say this person is one of those ‘travel boasters’ you know the type they have been there before you, infact they have been they before anybody else. They want to tell you what they have experienced and how they are a proper traveller and not just a backpacker! For me travelling and seeing new cultures should be experienced by everyone. So seeing Karl out of his comfort zone and immersing himself in new cultures was brave of him. I think he deserves some credit rather than the bashing he’s getting from the ‘travel boasters’
An Idiot Abroad showed some truth about a tourists point of view and the funny things that happen, it made a refreshing change from the glossy picture perfect travel shows we are used to seeing and therefore the producers should be commended. On top of that its been the funniest TV show i’ve seen in a very long time.
So if you’ve missed it the first time round get the DVD.
For me im planning various little trips this year and hope to do many more posts about the travel industry and travel mainly but also about things i probably want to get off my chest.
Heres to 2011 a year of great travelsand hopefully more readers!
