Blogville is one of the best things I’ve ever seen a tourist board do!
I am flying out to Bologna later this week to be a part of #blogville and am stupidly excited! Whilst I have travelled a lot in the North of Italy this is a region I actually know nothing about, apart from the Ferrari factory!
Whilst quite new to the scene, I only started this travel blog and travel photography blog just over a year ago, I have noticed an explosion of tourist boards and companies taking note of what travel bloggers can offer the travel industry.
This summer the tourist board of Emilia Romagna has created a project called #blogville. They have organised accommodation and apartments in Bologna and Rimini which are free for passing bloggers to stay in helping them experience everything the region has to offer.
Press, Fam and educational trips have been organised by tourist boards for years but this is something completely different and is focused only on bloggers rather than travel industry staff or journalists. Trips like these usually have set itineraries that are packed each day but apart from a weekly organised trip I am going to be free to do what I fancy during the rest of my stay.
I have deliberately not done any research on Bologna or the Emilia Romanga region as I want my posts to come from a strangers eyes. So look out for some future blogville posts about what I get up too.
Also check out #blogville on twitter for other bloggers updates.
Dont have twitter? Then follow Emilia Romanga’s blogville blog – that was a bit of a tongue twister 😉
This is an amazing idea for a tourist board so they deserve loads of credit and I am sure the blogging community will put the Emilia Romagna region firmly in the spotlight
